Welcome to the Cambria School of Musical Arts! Only the most prestigious genious young musicians are allowed to attend here. The staff of Cambria has a strict criteria in which students must meet. Cambria was founded in 1892 by Jacob Nelson Cambridge, and has produced many of the world's leading composers and musicians. People from all sorts of countries across the planet have attended this school, and still do.
Students ranging from ages fifteen to twenty-two can be found here, studying the curriculum established for their group. There are seven groups (Composers, Singers, Dancers, Woodwinds, Brass, Strings, and Percussion) in which one of them a student may be placed. Other groups or bands may be formed after the student has registered; they can either join an existing band/group by trying out, or they can create their own.
The curriculum here at Cambria is based on student enjoyment and happiness, so mostly anything is allowed. Why is this, you ask? Simple. When the school was created, Jacob Nelson Cambridge wanted it to be different from all others in the world. He tried a few different tactics, but the only one that seemed to work really well was just letting the students have free reign and learn to be responsible for themselves. Drugs, alcohol, and sex all go on here, but it doesn't mean that students can't shape up and do work also. Anyone who slacks off and fails to meet end of the year requirements will be expelled (this logic makes students at least earn the minimum passing grade).
Throughout the year there will be many school activities, festivals, and competitions (in which students who participate will be graded on performance). However, at the end of each year, a world-wide competition will be held. Cambria and its students will compete with other prestigious musical schools from around the world. There will be no auditions for this competition, instead, students will be hand-picked by the staff of Cambria; they will be chosen based on participation in school events and competitions, their rank in the competitions, their class grade, and overall talent. So, with that in mind, make sure to do your best and remember we are always watching!
